For Our Speakers

Our distinguished guest speakers address the most successful and influential venture investors in the world, representing a collective investment pool of many billions of dollars. WAVC members include some of the brightest minds in technology, biotech, finance and business. They also include individuals behind the creation of such groundbreaking companies as Google, eBay, Amazon and Yahoo as well as Oracle, Cisco, Intel and Apple.

WAVC members look forward to guest speakers who are willing to share their experiences as well as their knowledge and insights, especially as they relate to investment and business trends. WAVC members are especially interested in:
  • Learning about new ideas and emerging trends
  • Hearing stories of success—and lessons learned
  • Identifying new areas of investment opportunity
  • Seeing potential connections between markets, industries or companies
  • Being challenged and inspired
General Logistics
Most events take place at the Quadrus Conference Center at 2400 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park. Held over a sit-down lunch, WAVC events typically draw from 80 to 150 venture capitalists. Guest speakers typically present for 30 minutes followed by a 15-minute question and answer session. Projection capabilities are available upon request, but they are not a requirement.

Speakers are encouraged to speak about whatever topic(s) they feel would be of greatest interest and relevance to the WAVC membership. Typically, guest speakers develop their own topic, but WAVC program directors are also happy to discuss potential topics in advance.
